Week Six: Tagging and Social Bookmarking

Tagging and Social Bookmarking is something that I have been wanting to learn more about but just did not take the time until this week. I have used the bookmarking site Netvouz for storing library bookmarks in the past. Delicious has features that make bookmarking more social than Netvouz. One feature that Delicious does not have is the alert of broken links and the listing of sites according to my  imported bookmark folders. Otherwise, I like delicious and all the possibilities that it holds. Basically the best feature of any bookmarking site online is that if your computer crashes you have a backup of years and years worth of bookmarks.

Garvy: library cat

I have made a delicious account for myself and the library. I plan to work with it more and I can see adding a link of bookmarks to our website someday. In the past and in the future I will use online bookmarks when I set up public access computers at the library.

My user name at Delicious is: hmurph and the library name is beckbookman.
